Wie unsere treuen Blog-Leser wissen, möchten wir dieses Jahr sehr gern die „Hundebande“ unterstützen. Die Hundebande ist ein Patenprogramm, bei dem inhaftiere Frauen der JVA Hahnöfersand neun Monate lang die Verantwortung für kleine Welpen übernehmen und sie auf ihre Ausbildung zum Blindenführhund vorbereiten. Eine wirklich tolle Einrichtung, die sowohl den inhaftierten Frauen als auch vielen blinden Menschen, die auf Blindenhunde angewiesen sind, helfen.
Simona und ich sind so begeistert von der Hundebande, dass wir uns schon des öfteren mit der Initiatorin Manuela Maurer getroffen haben. Wir begleiten auch hier mit unserem Blog immer wieder die neuen Hundewelpen. Und einer dieser kleinen, schwarzen, süßen Labrador-Pudel-Mischung hört auf den Namen „Nico“ 🙂 Ihn werden wir ganz besonders beobachten und hier im Blog immer mal wieder von der Entwicklung berichten. Die fachliche Leitung des Programms liegt bei der Führhundschule Nadja Steffen.
Damit die Welpen auch die Welt außerhalb der Mauern kennenlernen, ist die Hundebande noch auf der Suche nach einem ehrenamtlichen Paten! Welches sind die konkreten Aufgaben?
Dei ehrenamtlichen Paten sollten möglichst montags und donnerstags von ca. 12.00 bis 17.00 Uhr mit dem kleinen Welpen Zeit zu verbringen und ihnen dabei das eigene häusliche Umfeld, aber auch typische Stadtumfelder näher bringen, z.B. U-Bahn- und Busfahren, andere Hunde treffen, Einkaufsbummel durch die Fußgängerzone etc. Dazu gehört auch die Teilnahme an einem Trainingskurs unter fachlicher Anleitung (entweder Montag oder Donnerstag von 12.00 bis 14.00 Uhr, Treffpunkt Max-Brauer-Alle). Und ebenfalls wichtig ist die Bereitschaft zur Mobilität, um den Hund anschließend (oder an einem der Tage) in der JVA Hahnöfersand seiner dortigen Patin zurück zu bringen.
Neben dem Interesse für Tier und Mensch ist es wichtig, an beiden Wochentagen zuverlässig Zeit einplanen zu können. Dass die Paten einen verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit dem kleinen Welpen pflegen sollten, versteht sich von selbst.
Das Programm startet Mitte April und endet im Februar 2016. Bei Interesse freut sich Manuela Maurer über eine direkte Kontaktaufnahme. Entweder per E-Mail unter mail@hundebande.org oder telefonisch: 0179 / 4127140.
