Ich weiß gar nicht was bisher mein absolutes Highlight hier in Amsterdam war. Die anspruchsvollen und großartig inszenierten Fashion-Shows? Der Welcome-Abend mit grandiosen Soul-Sängern und dem Wiedersehen vieler Friseurfreunde? Oder der Nachmittag an dem ich zusammen mit sehr guten, engen Freunden in einer Sportsbar den HSV Sieg mit einer an dieser Stelle lieber nicht zu erwähnender Anzahl Jägermeister feierte? Egal. Bis jetzt sind es wirklich schöne Tage hier in Amsterdam!
Dabei fing unsere Reise gar nicht sonderlich gut an. Knapp eine Stunde mussten wir in Hamburg im Flugzeug sitzen bis der Flug endlich starten konnte. Ein Triebwerk musste noch gereinigt und kontrolliert werden. Es gibt angenehmere Gefühle… Im Hotel angekommen durften wir feststellen, dass die Hotelpreise in dieser wunderschönen Grachten-Stadt anscheinend besonderen Maßstäben zugrunde liegen. Unser Zimmer ist nicht einmal ein Viertel von dem wert was wir dafür bezahlen. Ich wusste nicht das es so etwas noch gibt. Andere Kongressteilnehmer aus anderen Hotels berichteten sehr ähnliche Erfahrungen. Glück für die, die es besser getroffen haben. Die Stadt selbst ist ja unglaublich charmant, aber am Samstag war es wirklich auf jeder Strasse und in jeder Gasse so mit Menschenmassen gefüllt, dass einem wirklich jeder Spaß verging. Habe ich selbst am Time Square in New York so noch nicht erlebt. Alles in allem kein guter Start, wofür man jedoch den Kongressveranstaltern keine Schuld geben kann. Und es wurde ja stündlich besser… 🙂
Heute stehen weitere Treffen mit Kollegen an und Simona und ich freuen uns auf den fachlichen wie menschlichen Austausch. Außerdem steht nun endlich auch mal Sightseeing an um die Stadt besser kennen zu lernen. Darauf freuen wir uns total. Und heute Abend feiern die Niederländer die Befreiung von Deutschland von vor 70 Jahren. Und wir mittendrin. Na, dass kann ja heiter werden 🙂
