Als dieses Foto entstand, am Donnerstagnachmittag, da war die Hoffnung noch groß, dass Hamburg der Welt beweisen kann, dass massive Demonstrationen und G20 Kritik auch friedlich geführt werden können. Jetzt, am Samstagmorgen, nach zwei chaotischen Nächten und vielen verwüsteten Strassen, ist diese Hoffnung verflogen. Restlos.
Viele Freunde – und besonders viele Friseurkollegen aus ganz Deutschland – haben Simona und mich angerufen und/oder auf verschiedenen Messenger-Diensten angeschrieben um uns zu fragen wie es uns geht. Diese Anteilnahme freut uns sehr. Und wie auf Facebook gestern angekündigt möchte ich den heutigen Blog dazu nutzen Euch zu informieren wie es denn nun bei uns aussieht und wie wir über die die G20 Tage in Hamburg denken.
Komm ich zunächst auf´s Geschäftliche. Das Stadtpalais und der Ballindamm-Salon waren am gestrigen Freitag geschlossen und bleiben auch heute geschlossen. Diese Entscheidung war absolut richtig. Ich war gestern Mittag & Nachmittag an den Standorten. 80% der Geschäfte in der Stadt waren geschlossen. Die Strassen wie ausgestorben. Fast alle Strassen gesperrt. Beide Salons waren praktisch kaum zu erreichen. Und mit der gleichen Situation ist auch heute zu rechnen. Somit haben wir da alles richtig gemacht. Der Salon im EKZ Hamburger Meile hatte gestern und ist auch heute geöffnet. Alle Mitarbeiter waren pünktlich im Salon. Die Stimmung im Salon unter Mitarbeitern und Kunden ist entspannt. Warum auch nicht? Das Einkaufszentrum ist erstaunlich gut besucht, der Salon an beiden Tagen ausgebucht. Ich möchte mich an dieser Stelle bei SYRINGA HELWEG, NICOLE BORCK, STEFANIE BENSMANN, AMY SCHOGS, TOBIAS THIEL, NATALIE GOY ANNA MARIE LIEBIG, KATRIN RESSING, TANJA KOLZENBURG, ANNA KRÜGER, ALENA BÖCKMANN und JANNA POSCHARSKY für Ihren tollen Einsatz in diesen Tagen bedanken!
Simona, Bennet und ich sitzen mehr oder weniger seit Donnerstag in unserer Wohnung fest. US-Präsident Trump wohnt nur knapp 400 Meter von uns entfernt. Seit gut drei Tagen dröhnen über uns Hubschrauber. Und das Tag und Nacht! Alle Strassen sind weitestgehend gesperrt. Polizeisperrung auch direkt vor unserer Haustür. Mit dem Auto geht nichts. Auch die Elektroroller müssen stehen bleiben. Einzig Fuss- und Radwege sind geöffnet. Somit sind wir sehr viel zu Fuss auf der Strasse unterwegs. Und da erlebt man so einiges…
Um meine Gedanken jetzt ein wenig strukturierter zu bündeln, möchte ich nun einige Fragen beantworten, die mir in den letzten Stunden immer wieder gestellt worden sind. Das meine Antworten allen gefallen werden, bezweifle ich sehr stark. Da dies jedoch ein privater und authentischer Blog ist, denke ich dass es wichtig ist, dass ich hier klar Stellung beziehe und meine (und größtenteils auch Simona´s) Meinung mitteile.
Muss solch ein G20 Gipfel überhaupt sein?
Ja. Definitiv. Gerade in der heutigen Zeit, in der immer gefährlichere Populisten und Personen mit diktatorischen Führungsstiel die Weltpolitik beherrschen. Es gibt keine Alternative zu einem Dialog. Selbst wenn aus Hamburg am Ende kaum etwas Verwertbares herauskommen sollte. Es ist wichtig, dass ein persönlicher Austausch zwischen den Regierungen stattfindet und Kontakte intensiviert werden. Über die Zusammensetzung des Gipfels kann man kritischer Meinung sein. Sehe ich auch nicht als ideal gelöst an. Aber alles ist besser als nicht miteinander zu sprechen.
Muss ein G20 Gipfel in einer Großstadt stattfinden?
Diese Frage hätte ich vor einer Woche noch mit „Nein“ beantwortet. Nette Träumerein wie „Helgoland“ oder „Kreuzfahrtschiffe“ habe auch ich noch vor ein paar Tagen in den Mund genommen. Doch wenn man hier vor Ort miterlebt wie viele Menschen direkt an solch einem Gipfel beteiligt sind (inkl. Presse sind es über 10.000 Personen), dann kann das allein schon aus logistischen Gründen nur in einer Großstadt stattfinden. Alles andere ist für mein Empfinden nicht wirklich realistisch – so charmant auch einige Vorschläge klingen.
Jedoch muss man sich fragen ob „Hamburg“ der richtige Ort für ein G20 Gipfel ist. Der einzige Ort in Hamburg wo der Kongress wirklich arbeiten kann, sind die Messehallen. Und dort findet der Gipfel ja nun auch statt. Die Messehallen liegen jedoch nicht nur mitten in der Stadt, sondern sie liegen auch direkt neben dem Schanzenviertel, Schulterblatt und St. Pauli. Hier hat bei der letzten Bundestagswahl die Linke über 20% aller Stimmen erhalten, im Vergleich die CDU nur 3%. Diese linke Szene ist über Hamburgs Grenzen bekannt. Und genau dort – Tür an Tür – soll einen Gipfel durchzuführen ist eigentlich unverantwortlich. Allein diese Tatsache reicht um zu verstehen, dass die Polizei keine faire Chance auf einen friedlichen Verlauf des Gipfels hatte.
Wer hat Schuld an der Gewalt?
Da habe ich eine klare Meinung. Bevor ich die mitteile ist es für mich aber sehr wichtig darauf hinzuweisen, dass es aus meiner Sicht niemals einseitige Gewalt geben kann. Gewalt ist immer eine Reaktion auf irgendetwas. Und ich denke es gehört zu einem verantwortungsvollen, zivilisiertem Leben dazu, sich selbst auch immer zu hinterfragen in welcher Form man bewusst oder unbewusst Gewalt provoziert hat. Und Idioten gibt es überall – und in diesem besonderen Fall auch auf Seiten der Demonstranten UND der Polizei! Hier also eine Seite völlig heilig zu sprechen und die andere alleinverantwortlich zu machen, wäre aus meiner Sicht unseriös. Dennoch, auch (oder gerade) mit solch einer Grundeinstellung fällt es mir überraschend sehr leicht die Schuldigen für die Krawalle und Gewalt zu nennen. Und diese sind absolut bei den Globalisierungsgegnern zu finden!
Ich war und ich bin im Zentrum. Ich habe viele Polizeieinsätze live vor Ort miterlebt. Ich habe Einsätze von Wasserwerfern aus nächster Nähe erlebt und habe mit Polizisten und Demonstranten gesprochen. Ich kann aus meiner subjektiven Sicht sagen, dass die Polizei völlig zu unrecht in den sozialen Medien und von einigen Tageszeitungen und Journalisten an den Pranger gestellt wird. Klar, „hinterher ist man immer schlauer“. Das ist wie beim Fussball. Verliert man ein Spiel mit 0:4, dann weiß man auch das die Aufstellung und Taktik falsch war. Hätte man dieses Wissen schon vorher gehabt, hätte man sich natürlich anders aufgestellt. Und gleiches gilt sicher auch für jeden Großeinsatz der Polizei. Das die Hamburger „Null-Toleranz-Taktik“ beim G20 Gipfel krachend gescheitert ist, ist unschwer zu erkennen. Ob eine tolerantere Taktik viele der schrecklichen Ausschreitungen verhindert hätte, ist müssig zu diskutieren. Die einen sagen so, die anderen so. Wissen tut es keiner. Aber bei aller Diskussion darf man zwei Dinge nicht übersehen die mir ganz wichtig sind zu erwähnen:
- Schon in den Tagen vor dem Gipfel – und auch bis heute am Samstagvormittag – kann ich fast nur positives über die Polizistinnen und Polizisten berichten. Ja, auch ich wurde 2-3 mal rüde angesprochen, aber ansonsten waren und sind alle Beamte wirklich äußerst nett und umgänglich. Und wenn man dann hört wie viele Stunden einige schon im Dienst sind, kaum Schlaf erhalten, wie viele Polizistinnen und Polizisten über Stunden keine Chance haben etwas zu essen oder zu trinken oder auf Toilette zu gehen, dann ist ihr Einsatz nicht groß genug zu loben! Und das alles oft in 20 kg schwerer Montur!
- Die Gewalt begann am Donnerstagabend. Wer seine Demonstration schon „Welcome To Hell“ nennt, sollte sich nicht über eine massive Polizeipräsenz wundern. Und wenn dann ein vermummter „Schwarzer Block“ vornweg marschieren will in dem sich 600 bis 1.000 (die Zahlen schwanken) befinden, dann finde ich es auch nur korrekt und völlig richtig und legitim, wenn die Polizei die Demonstration anhält, auf das Vermummungsverbot hinweist und bittet die Maskierungen abzunehmen. Als daraufhin nur die wenigsten dieser Nachforderung nachkamen, versuchte die Polizei den schwarzen Block von den geschätzt 9.000 friedlichen Demonstranten zu trennen, damit wenigsten diese die Demo wie geplant durchführen konnten. Diesen Ansatz finde ich auch heute noch korrekt. Was ich nicht begreife ist, wie viele der angeblichen „friedlichen Demonstranten“ sich dann mit dem schwarzen Block solidarisierten und die Polizei mit verschiedenen Gegenständen beschmiss. Was danach passierte ging um die Welt und die Gewalt eskalierte….
Ich möchte an dieser Stelle ausdrücklich die Polizei in Schutz nehmen! Ich habe selbst miterlebt wie Polizisten nicht nur von Demonstranten und Gewalttätern attackiert wurden, sondern wie Polizistinnen und Polizisten mitten auf der Strasse von augenscheinlich ganz normalen Bürgen aus dem Nichts heraus angepöbelt wurden. „Wichser“, „Verpisst Euch“ und „Haut ab“ waren keine Seltenheit. Und versetzt Euch mal in deren Lage: Erheblicher Schlafmangel, Überstunden ohne Ende, höchste Angespanntheit, schlechte Versorgung mit Lebensmitteln, größtenteils schwerste Panzerung am Körper, dabei schwüle Hitze… und dann kommt es zu einer körperlichen Konfrontation. Das man dann im Tumult auch mal daneben liegt und evtl. unschuldige Personen attackiert ist ärgerlich, aber verständlich. Wofür ich jedoch gar kein Verständnis habe – und was mir in den meisten journalistischen Arbeiten viel zu selten erwähnt wird – ist die Tatsache, dass sich die friedlichen Demonstranten nicht viel stärker von den Gewalttätern gelöst haben. Die Polizei hat dazu immer wieder vor Ort aufgefordert. Jeder Einsatz von Wasserwerfern wurde vorher angekündigt. Genutzt hat es nichts. Der schwarze Mob und die G20 Gegner blieben oftmals Seite an Seite – und haben somit die Polizeiarbeit erheblich erschwert. Auch die vielen Schaulustigen mit ihren gezückten iPhones oder Pressevertreter mit professioneller Ausrüstung kannten oftmals keine Grenzen und begaben sich nur für ein tolles Foto oder ein drastisches Video in Gefahr. Die Polizei konnte einem da nur leid tun. Ich habe das recht früh erkannt und mich anschließend extrem zurück gehalten.
Es ist traurig wie wenig Unterstützung die Polizei in der medialen Öffentlichkeit bis hierhin erhalten hat. Vor Ort sah das anders aus. Ich habe Nachbarn gesehen die die Polizisten mit Essen und Trinken versorgten. Wir haben unsere Toilette in der Wohnung zur Verfügung gestellt. Viele kleine Aktionen sorgten dafür, das zwischen vielen Anwohnern und der Polizei der Kontakt allzeit freundlich blieb. Und wenn ich sehe wie stark deren Belastung war und weiterhin ist, schon jetzt aber von schlauen Journalisten im TV diskutiert wird, ob die Polizei „angemessen“ reagiert hat und nicht eine große Mitschuld an den schrecklichen Bildern von Hamburg trägt, dann kriege ich das Kotzen. Tut mir leid dies so deutlich zu schreiben.
Mein Fazit:
In diesem Moment in dem ich den Blog schreibe, wird der Gipfel noch ein paar Stunden aktiv sein. Was politisch dabei herausspringt kann ich also noch nicht sagen. Meine Erwartung ist gering. Dennoch sehe ich solch einen Gipfel als sinnvoll an. Null Verständnis und null Toleranz habe ich für die vielen Randalierer und Chaoten. Wer Polizisten verletzt, Scheiben zertrümmert, Autos in Brand steckt, Geschäfte plündert u.ä. gehört vor Gericht und bestraft! Und diese zweifelhafte Rhetorik der linken Szene wie z.B. „Jeder wusste vorher was passiert„, oder „Man braucht sich nicht wundern wenn es eskaliert wenn die Polizei so massiv auftritt“ trifft bei mir auch auf null Verständnis. Aus meiner Sicht alles bullshit. Es gibt keine Legitimierung für Zerstörung und Gewalt. Warum auch?
Meine Wahrnehmung ist, dass wenn alle G20 Gegner sich im Vorfeld mit der Polizei ausgetauscht und nach bestmöglichen Kompromissen gesucht hätten (Stichwort: Übernachtung-Camps) und wenn sich alle Demonstranten an das Vermummungsverbot gehalten hätten, wäre es niemals so eskaliert. Und wenn sich nicht zahlreiche G20 Gegner nicht mit dem gewaltbereiten Mob solidarisiert hätten, dann hätte die Polizei auch viel schneller auf die Gewalttaten reagieren und einschreiten können. Hätte, wenn und aber… bringt jetzt alles nichts.
Ich bin traurig. Die Bilder die vom G20 Gipfel im Kopf belieb sind sicherlich die Szenen von Gewalt. Das hat weder der Gipfel verdient, noch die inhaltlich wertvolle Kritik der friedlichen Gipfelgegner. So bleiben am Ende nur Verlierer zurück. Insofern kann man zum Ergebnis kommen, dass gewaltbereite Vollidioten die Gewinner des Gipfels sind. Sie bestimmten das Bild. Das sollte uns allen zu denken geben. Helfen tut dies keinem. Dann doch lieber das Foto vom Hipster auf dem Weg zu Edeka. Hilft auch keinem – gibt einem aber auch ein wenig die Hoffnung zurück, dass wir alle schon bald wieder gelassener werden und Hamburg seine Schönheit zurück erhält. Dessen bin ich mir sicher.
Dieser Beitrag ist extrem lang geworden. Das tut mir leid. Und dabei habe ich einige Dinge noch nicht einmal geschrieben die ich unbedingt schreiben wollte. Aber ich denke es reicht auch so. Ich wünsche uns allen dass der Gipfel jetzt friedlich zu Ende geht und spätestens ab Montag Normalität eintritt. Danke für Eure Geduld.
